Pastor Mike and Cathy came to Mountain Home to lead First Assembly in March of 2002.  Pastor Mike describes their seven years in the Ozarks as one of the highlights of their ministry, “It is so exciting to be a part of what God is doing in the Mountain Home area.  Participating in the growth and ministry of the church and watching individuals and families build a relationship with Jesus are more rewarding than I can express.  Cathy and I are blessed to be here!”

A graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Pastor Mike has a background in education and enjoys teaching the Word of God.  His teaching ministry has opened doors for ministry in crusades, seminars, and conferences.  Currently, Pastor Mike serves as a member of the Board of Executives and Presbyters for the Arkansas Assemblies of God.

Cathy’s warm smile and gracious personality are important elements of the Howell’s almost 30 years as senior pastors.  They are the parents of two adult children; Jason is a youth pastor and Aimee is a photographer.

Greetings in the name of the Lord:

Sue and I are the newest staff members of 1st Assembly, arriving in March of 2009.  We serve in the children's area known as DOCKIDS (Disciples Of Christ Kids).  The Lord has blessed us in 25 years of marriage with four great children.  Our oldest, Josh, is 24 and is in the Air Force; Sarah is 22 and Sam is 20, with both attending college in the fall; Alyssa who is 8 will be attending 3rd grade this year in Mountain Home.  After graduating from Central Bible College in 2005, my family and I moved to Okinawa, Japan to serve as Missionary Associates with the primary role of children’s ministry.  As we minister to children we are also reaching out to the family as well. The Lord has blessed us in allowing us to be part of the great work being done here in Mountain Home and around the world.
